Golden sands, safe bathing, water sports, an historic harbour - and all just a short walk from the thriving town centre, that’s Weymouth in a nutshell!
During the summer months, the traditional seaside attractions of Punch & Judy, donkeys, swing boats, carousels, deckchairs and plenty of snack kiosks complement the beautiful beach. Early each morning the sands are cleaned and this is the perfect time of day for a peaceful stroll along the water's edge.
The Harbour is one of Weymouth’s most popular areas and is home to many fine traditional pubs and award-winning restaurants. From the ever popular fish & chips, always a hot favourite, to fine dining, there is an excellent choice in eating out to suit all budgets. In the warmer months eating alfresco is in order, particularly in Hope Square. The Brewers Quay complex is home to the Timewalk and Discovery family attractions as well as a courtyard shopping centre.
The RSPB has two reserves close by, Radipole Lake in the heart of the town and Lodmoor, just a short walk away. There's plenty of room to fly a kite on the cliffs at Bowleaze; and the Nothe Gardens offer an oasis for those looking for a quiet spot to relax.
Shoppers will enjoy browsing around the town's smaller shops as well as the larger, well known names. And dotted amongst the shops are plenty of pubs, cafes and bistros that offer a welcome break from the retail therapy.
